Stichera on verse

Stanza 1

Verse: Early in the morning we were filled with Thy mercy, O Lord, and rejoiced and were glad. All our days have rejoiced: for the days in which Thou hast humbled us, for the years in which we have seen evil. And look upon Thy servants, and upon Thy works, / and show the way to their children.

Ps 89:14–16

Stanza 2

Verse: And let the radiance of the Lord our God be upon us, and straighten out the works of our hands, / and straighten out the works of our hands.

Ps 89:17

Stanza 3

It is good to praise the Lord, and to sing to Thy name, O Most High, to proclaim Thy mercy and Thy truth all night long.

Ps 91:2–3

The Trisagion. Glory, and now: Most Holy Trinity: Lord, have mercy. (3) Glory, and now: Our Father: Priest: For Thine is the Kingdom: Reader: Amen.

Troparion of the Feast. Glory, and now: Theotokos of the same voice. Litany: Have mercy on us, O God: and prayer.

Deacon: Wisdom.

Priest: Blessed is the Eternal – Christ our God, always: now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.

Choir: Amen. Establish, O God, the holy Orthodox faith, the Orthodox Christians for ever and ever.

And we begin the first hour.

If it is fasting, and we have sung "Alleluia", we end Matins as follows:

It is good to praise the Lord, and to sing to Thy name, O Most High, to proclaim Thy mercy and Thy truth all night long. (2)

Ps 91:2–3

The Trisagion. Glory, and now: Most Holy Trinity: Lord, have mercy. (3) Glory, and now: Our Father: Priest: For Thine is the Kingdom: Reader: Amen.

Standing in the temple of Thy glory, / we think that we stand in heaven. / O Mother of God, the gates of heaven, / open to us the doors of Thy mercy.

Lord, have mercy. (40) Glory, and now:

By the honor of the supreme Cherubim / and incomparably more glorious than the Seraphim, / who gave birth to God the Word in virginity, / the true Mother of God – we magnify Thee.

In the name of the Lord, bless, father.

Priest: Blessed is the Eternal – Christ our God, always: now, and always, and unto the ages of ages.
