Book of Hours (Russian translation)

Lord, have mercy. (40)

And the prayer: At all times and at every hour receiving worship and glorification in heaven and on earth, Christ God, long-suffering, abundantly merciful, most merciful, loving the righteous and having mercy on sinners, calling all to salvation with the promise of future blessings! O Lord, accept our prayers in this hour and direct our lives to Thy commandments: sanctify our souls, cleanse our bodies, correct our thoughts, purify our thoughts, and deliver us from all sorrow, trouble, and torment. Protect us with Thy holy Angels, so that by their host we may attain unity in faith and understanding of Thy unapproachable glory, for Thou art blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen.

Lord, have mercy. (3) Glory, and now:

By the honor of the supreme Cherubim / and incomparably more glorious than the Seraphim, / who gave birth to God the Word in virginity, / the true Mother of God – we magnify Thee.

In the name of the Lord, bless, father.

Priest: O God, have mercy on us and bless us; show us the light of Thy countenance, and have mercy on us.

Reader: Amen.

If at Matins "Alleluia" is sung instead of "God is Lord", the priest pronounces the prayer of St. Ephraim the Syrian with bows, dividing it into three parts:

Lord and Master of my life! Do not betray me to the spirit of idleness, worldliness, lust for power, and idle talk. (Bow)

Grant the spirit of chastity, humility, patience and love to me, your servant. (Bow)

Yes, O Lord the King, let me see my transgressions, and not condemn my brother, for Thou art blessed for ever and ever. Amen. (Bow)

There are also 12 small bows with prayer:

God, cleanse me, a sinner.
