A COLLECTION OF EPISTLES

But the rich man will be humbled by his humiliation, for he shall pass away like a flower on the grass.

The sun rises, the heat comes, and the heat withers the grass, its blossom falls, the beauty of its appearance disappears; so also the rich fade in his ways.

Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love him.

In temptation, let no man say, God tempts me; for God is not tempted by evil, neither does he himself tempt anyone;

but every one is tempted, being carried away, and deceived by his own lust;

And lust, when it is conceived, brings forth sin, but when sin is committed, it brings forth death.

Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.

Every good gift and every perfect gift comes down from above, from the Father of lights, with whom there is no change, not a shadow of change.

And when he willed, he begat us by the word of truth, that we might be some of the firstfruits of his creatures.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger,

for the wrath of man doeth not the righteousness of God.

Therefore, putting aside all uncleanness and the remnant of wickedness, in meekness receive the word that is planted, which is able to save your souls.

Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

For he that heareth the word, and doeth not, is like unto a man that beholdeth the natural features of his face in a mirror.

He looked at himself, walked away, and forgot what he was like.

But whosoever shall enter into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and abide in it, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, shall be blessed in his action.
