To an even greater extent, this applies to advertising. Today, a person is bombarded with such a flow of information that you can only shout to him. There is no time to explain to him what is good about this particular product, you need to tickle his nerves, touch the most sensitive strings in him (for example, vanity or sexual hunger), and "hook" him at any cost. And since there are more and more such leads, we have to come up with new, more and more sophisticated and powerful ones. So the company of teenagers warmed up by beer shouts louder and louder, waves their arms wider and wider - everyone needs to shout over the others. If one of them says any, even the most important thing, in a calm, even voice, no one will simply hear him. Time passes, they get used to it, and what cannot be shouted, they can no longer express; What surpasses the complexity and depth of a commercial or a music video is incapable of perceiving. "Well, this... I'm like... And he's more, in short, like this..."

What to do with such people is a separate topic, and I don't have a single answer. But one thing I can say for sure: this whirlwind of nonsense cannot be imitated, this brainshaking cannot be competed with. You'll lose anyway, and if you even win, you won't be happy about it.

But Christian media, Christian blogs, and just private conversations of Christians are also often involved in a similar cycle. To speak in a low voice means not to be heard, and therefore the most scandalous topics are chosen, the hottest facts are given, the harshest assessments are given. Nothing, if not everything said later turns out to be appropriate - at least it was possible to attract attention. And if the topic of conversation itself is very important, then, perhaps, you can neglect the side effects, the main thing is that people hear. Isn't that right?

No, not like that. Even if we do not remember such concepts as empty talk or condemnation (and their boundaries are easily and imperceptibly crossed in shouting), such behavior turns out to be simply irrational. We will still not be able to shout over advertisers and "newsmen", as well as teenagers with a beer. Moses might as well have taken up the construction of pyramids higher than Pharaoh's, or the apostles could have built a temple more magnificent than Herod's. If today we shouted to be heard, then tomorrow we will have to shout even louder, and the day after tomorrow, and so on ad infinitum. We are drawn into a competition that is doomed to lose.

There is such a thing as "environmental friendliness of the solution". Sometimes one or another solution to the problem turns out to be the most profitable and effective in the short term, but it causes significant and long-term harm to the entire situation as a whole. For example, they built an oil rig, made a profit, but ruined the surrounding nature for decades. Or another example, from the summer of 2010: a fire pond was filled up and put into construction, fire equipment was not updated and even the rynda was scrapped - and a few years later they were completely defenseless against fire. To avoid such decisions, you do not need any special wisdom, ordinary experience and common sense are enough. And it seems to me that where they begin to shout about God, where the Gospel is preached through a scandal, they make extremely environmentally unfriendly decisions, even for very pressing problems.

But even this is not the main thing. Our world, deafened by the scream, blinded by the false brilliance, nevertheless sometimes remembers: after all, there was something else important, half-forgotten, ancient, childish... And perhaps we will be able to remind him of this with the words of our ancient Book: the blowing of a gentle wind, the voice of cold is subtle — and there is the Lord.

3. Rations or grace?

There was a story about an elderly North Korean woman who escaped from a communist camp about fifteen years ago and told about her expectations of the free world: "The United States is such a rich country that even babies are given 800 grams there. The state should distribute rations so that its citizens do not die of hunger, and in a rich state it will be given larger rations, and in pure rice, and not barley or corn, as they gave at home. It did not occur to her that in this freest world, rations were given only to soldiers and prisoners, and that all other people earned money, went to the store with it, and bought whatever they wanted.

Even now, when illegal private entrepreneurship has arisen in North Korea, employees of such enterprises are also issued... food rations. The owner sends his assistant to the market to buy a bag of rice there, and then distributes it to his employees. It would be easier, of course, to pay them with money, as in the rest of the world, but then they would feel deprived: their neighbors have rations, and they don't!

Но пайковое сознание не уходит само собой при перемене общественного строя, и когда мы входили в свободный рынок, оно нас оставило не сразу. Рынок, свободу и демократию нам тоже должны были дать откуда-то сверху, по определенной мерке. В принципе, так оно и вышло: раздали всем ваучеры, люди понесли их во всякие фонды… Недавно нам по почте пришло письмо от акционерной компании. Предлагалось проголосовать за решения: выплатить совету директоров вознаграждение в размере более 21 миллиона рублей, а акционерам дивиденды. На одну акцию пришлось, я цитирую, 0,000046791 рубля. Такой вот паек установили владельцы контрольного пакета, и всё строго по закону. Да и с демократией у нас получилось примерно то же самое.

И даже наши самые великие демократы до сих пор нередко мыслят по-пайковому. Как было при Советах? Сдал двадцать кг макулатуры — получи талон на роман Дюма, выдал на гора тонну угля сверх плана — вот тебе путевка в санаторий. И, по мнению В. И. Новодворской, в Евросоюз тоже путевки не просто так дают, надо сдать кого-нибудь в обмен. Сербы вот молодцы, сдали Младича… Это только в Гааге уверены, что суд будет устанавливать его причастность к военным преступлениям, для демократов пайкового образца всё намного проще, всё по-большевицки: враги народа осуждены по определению, надо сдать их куда положено в обмен на путевку в светлое будущее.

Но не будем больше о политике. Как живет человек с пайковым сознанием? Это очень хорошо видно по опыту коммуналок, да и многоквартирных домов. Отношения с соседями он будет выстраивать при помощи графиков уборки общественных мест, взносов на подъездные нужды, а если возникнет спорная ситуация, ни за что не решится напрямую побеседовать, предложить какой-то компромисс. Нет, он будет писать жалобы вплоть до ООН, требуя, чтобы начальство пришло и восстановило попранную справедливость. Ему достался паек слишком маленький, а соседу — слишком большой, и это вовсе не повод добровольно поделиться. Следует требовать централизованного перераспределения благ, и мы видим это на множестве примеров, от территории лестничной площадки и до нефтегазовых компаний.

Но вырастает новое поколение, которое привыкло не получать, а зарабатывать. И тот, кто вложил в акции не какой-то бессмысленный ваучер, а собственные трудовые накопления, наверное, проследит, куда пошли его деньги и почему они не приносят ему дохода. И тот, кто полжизни выплачивает ипотеку за купленную квартиру, иначе строит отношения с соседями, и тот, кто работает на благо своей страны и своих детей, ждет от государства не якобы положенной ему путевки в Евросоюз, а понятных, справедливых и общих правил игры. Именно таких правил, на основе которых и строился сам Евросоюз, безо всяких путевок от месткома. И я глубоко убежден, что в России мы справимся с коррупцией и чиновным произволом тогда и только тогда, когда простые люди отвыкнут от взгляда на чиновника как на Великого Распределителя, который раздает всем пайки, и надо подсуетиться (какое замечательное советское словцо!), чтобы получить 800 гр. чистого риса, а не полкило кукурузы.

Казалось бы, в Церкви не место пайковому сознанию. Христиане верят, что всё получают свыше, благодарят за каждый час своей жизни, за каждый кусок хлеба и за каждую улыбку ребенка. Но это не паек, мы называем это совсем другим словом — благодать. Нам ничего не «положено», но нам даётся всё, что нам действительно нужно, и гораздо более того, «ибо не мерою дает Бог Духа» (от Иоанна 3:34) и «не видел того глаз, не слышало ухо, и не приходило то на сердце человеку, что приготовил Бог любящим Его» (1 Коринфянам 2:9). Бери, сколько хочешь и можешь взять — только действительно бери.
