CHARLES PEGUY. OUR YOUTH. THE MYSTERY OF THE MERCY OF JOAN OF ARC.

The first Russian edition by Charles Péguy, one of the most original and significant figures in the history of French literature and political thought at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, offers two works published in 1910 and which were the result of his political, spiritual and religious searches. "Our Youth" is a programmatic work in which the author, referring to the Dreyfus case, which became a turning point in the life of the French intelligentsia and the author himself, speaks about the principles and ideals to which he and his associates have always remained faithful. "The Mystery of Mercy of J. d'Arc" is a religious poem where Péguy, through the mouth of his heroine, reveals his attitude to religion and faith, war and peace, and social justice.
