Однажды святой Георгий показал батюшке растущий на горе цветок, похожий на маргаритку. Он был двухцветным: жёлтым с белым. Святой велел сварить лепестки разного цвета отдельно друг от друга: белые лепестки давать бесплодным мужчинам, а отвар из жёлтых — бесплодным женщинам. Опасаясь, что это бесовский соблазн, чтобы отравить людей, батюшка сначала выпил отвары сам. Убедившись, что они безвредны, он стал давать их бесплодным, которые после этого смогли родить детей. Их крестил отец Илия.

Вспоминает наша современница, внучка отца Илии Мария: «Однажды мы работали в огороде. Вдруг со стороны дороги раздался шум и лай собак. Сквозь лес нам ничего не было видно. «Что–то там происходит ?» — удивился отец Илия. Он попросил нас спрятаться дома, а сам остался на улице. Скоро показались два всадника, с раздражением спрашивавших: «Кто это на белой лошади мешал нам сюда проехать ? Где он ? Мы убьём его». Дедушка пригласил их в дом и принёс угощение. Потом спросил, смогут ли они узнать этого всадника, если вновь увидят его. Они ответили утвердительно. Батюшка принёс им икону святого Георгия, на которой гости узнали того, кто встретился им на дороге. Потрясённые, они уверовали в Бога и приняли Святое крещение».

Один турок по имени Хусейн жил в доме своей дочери в селении Махмутйа. По соседству жил начальник милиции, жена которого была психически больна. Чтобы не причинить никому вреда, она была связана цепями. Хусейн рассказал соседу о греке, который сможет помочь его несчастной жене. Отец Илия велел привести больную в дом дочери Хусейна. Двенадцать дней он молился за неё, пока наконец она вновь не обрела рассудок. С тех пор власти больше не беспокоили священника. Начальник милиции тайно стал христианином, и отец Илия крестил всю его семью.

Три турка, проживавших в России, задумали похитить отца Илию и закрыть церковь Святого Георгия. Ночью они сели на коней и отправились в путь, чтобы исполнить задуманное. Когда дорогу им преградил всадник на белом коне, кони злоумышленников в ужасе повернули вспять. Сам святой Георгий не дал им совершить задуманное злодейство. Раскаявшись, они рассказали обо всём отцу Илии и получили у него прощение.

О батюшкином даре стало известно повсюду. Издалека в надежде обрести здравие приезжали армяне, русские, грузины и даже турки. Отец Илия всегда заранее знал, кто из них сможет получить просимое. Над теми, кто не имел достаточной веры, он молитвы не читал, а отсылал их восвояси.

Сын одного офицера тяжело заболел. Врачи в Ленинграде и Москве сказали, что болезнь неизлечима. Услышав о батюшке Илие, отец привёз к нему сына.

«Поезжай домой и не волнуйся, твой ребёнок останется здесь на три недели. Если хочешь, можешь его навещать», — сказал отец Илия. Каждый раз, приезжая навестить сына, офицер видел, что ему всё лучше и лучше, пока наконец он не стал совершенно здоров.

Father Elijah had the gift of clairvoyance, he accurately predicted events in the future. One day, three Greeks from the village of Akhelseni gathered to visit him. On the way, they got lost and spent the night in the open air. Father Elijah had said beforehand that three travelers would come to him, and upon their arrival he asked: "Blessed brothers, how did you manage to get lost?"

Sometimes the priest would say: "Such and such people will come today, they will believe and will be healed," or: "The one who will come today is of little faith and therefore will not be healed." And indeed, this is exactly what happened. There were cases when the priest knew that someone who was going to him lost his way and got lost in the forest. Then he pointed out exactly the place where the traveler was lost, and sent his acquaintance to fetch him. One day Father Elijah said: "A man named Peter is coming here, he has such and such an illness, he will receive healing from it. He'll be here at five o'clock in the morning." That's exactly what happened.

Father often said: "The time will come when men will become like women, and women will become like men. The world will then suffer a great curse. There will be a war in Constantinople, and the Russians will win, they will reach the Euphrates River. Hagia Sophia will open and a service will be held there. Then there will be a six-fingered king." And he added: "Wake up, Russia, and gather your weapons," that is: come to faith, bring repentance and cast off godlessness.

Father often saw St. George, who once said to him: "The Turks will come to burn down the church and kill you." But the family did not believe Father Elijah at first. It must be said that the Turks were jealous of the father's plot and wanted to take it for themselves. At night, under the leadership of Ahmed Kitiaq, a Turkish detachment approached the priest's house. Knocking on the door, they asked to open it, pretending that they were lost and wanted to know the way. Hearing the refusal, they killed the priest's dog and opened fire. Bullets flew everywhere, but none of them hit the house. Through the window, Calliope saw St. George protecting them. With his arms outstretched, he stood in front of the entrance to the house. The Turks set fire to the church and the house, but the latter was still saved. Father Elias began to pray in front of the home iconostasis. During the prayer, the Lord, at his request, told him the names of all the arsonists.

But people's envy did not leave the priest alone. One relative wrote a denunciation against the priest, accusing him of hiding a lot of gold. He claimed that the priest took money from people for his healings, although he had never taken a penny from anyone. The father's house was turned upside down, everything that could be taken away from it was taken away, and the father himself and his wife Sotiria were thrown into prison. Father Elijah was cruelly tortured, because they knew that he believed in Christ. He was starved and placed in a narrow pit, so that he could not sit down or even turn around. From above, they urinated and defecated on it.

When the chief of police, whose wife was healed by the priest, found out about what had happened, he was able to secure the release of Mother Sotiria in a month, and in three months he was able to secure the release of Mother Sotiria himself (it was 1938). He gave them clothes, money and food. But Father Elijah was already terminally ill from the torments he had to endure. He urinated blood, experiencing unbearable pain.
