«...Иисус Наставник, помилуй нас!»

Troparion of the Baptism of the Lord (Feast of January 6)

In Russian:

When Thou, O Lord, was baptized in the Jordan, the worship (glorification) of the Holy Trinity was revealed: for the voice of the Parent bore witness of Thee, calling Thee the beloved Son, and the Spirit in the form of a dove confirmed the truth of (this) word. Christ God, Who appeared in the world, glory to Thee.

What does this troparion say?

That during the Baptism of the Lord all three persons of the Holy Trinity appeared to people: God the Father in a voice, the Son of God in the flesh, and the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove.

Troparion of the Meeting of the Lord (Feast of February 2)

In Russian:

Rejoice, O thou Virgin Mother of God, for from Thee has shone forth the Sun of righteousness, Christ our God, Who enlightens those who are in darkness. Rejoice also, O righteous elder, who hast embraced the Redeemer of our souls, Who grants us resurrection.

Priemyi - the one who has accepted.

In this troparion we address greetings to the Most Holy Virgin Mary, Who gave birth to Christ God, our Enlightener; we also address greetings to the righteous elder Simeon, who was vouchsafed to receive Him in his arms.

Who are these things in darkness?

These are the pagans, who did not know the true God before the coming of the Savior to earth, who lived lawlessly, and thus found themselves in darkness, as it were.

Troparion of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos (Feast of March 25)

In Russian:

Now is the beginning of our salvation and the revelation of the mystery that has been from all eternity. The Son of God becomes the Son of the Virgin, and Gabriel preaches the gospel of grace. For this reason we also exclaim to the Mother of God: Rejoice. Blessed one, the Lord is with Thee.

The head is the beginning, the foundation.

What does this troparion say?

That the mystery of our salvation was revealed by the gospel of Gabriel; for the birth of the Son of God, our Saviour, from the Virgin Mary, is proclaimed, and we are called here to address her with the Archangelic greeting.

What is the meaning of the words: the manifestation of the sacrament from eternity?
