Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And the woman said to the serpent, 'We may eat of the fruit of the trees,

Only the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, said God, you shall not eat of it or touch it, lest you die.

And the serpent said to the woman, 'No, you will not die;

but God knows that in the day that you eat of them, your eyes will be opened, and you will be like gods, knowing good and evil.

And the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasing to the eye, and desirable, because it giveth knowledge; And she took of its fruit, and ate it; and she gave it also to her husband, and he ate.

And the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked, and they sewed fig leaves, and made themselves girdles.

And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day; And Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

And he said, 'I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I am naked, and hid myself.'

And [God] said, 'Who told you that you were naked?' did you not eat of the tree from which I forbade you to eat?

And Adam said, 'The woman whom thou hast given me, she gave me of the tree, and I have eaten.'

And the Lord God said to the woman, 'Why hast thou done this?' The woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate.

And the Lord God said unto the serpent, 'Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed before all cattle, and before all the beasts of the field; Thou shalt walk on thy belly, and shalt eat dust all the days of thy life;

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed. it will bruise your head, and you will bruise your heel.
