Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And Jacob took the stone, and set it up as a monument.

And Jacob said to his kinsmen, 'Gather stones.' They took stones, and made a hill, and ate [and drank] there on the hill. [And Laban said to him, "This hill is a witness today between me and you."]

And Laban called him, Jegar-sagaduth; and Jacob called it Gilead.

And Laban said [to Jacob], 'Today this hill [and the monument which I have erected] is a witness between me and thee. Wherefore his name was called Gilead;

And also, Mizpah, because Laban said, Let the Lord watch over me and over thee, when we hide ourselves from one another;

If you do evil to my daughters, or if you take wives besides my daughters, then although there is no man among us who sees, yet behold, God is a witness between me and you.

And Laban said to Jacob, 'This is this hill, and this is the monument which I have set up between me and you;

This hill is a witness, and this monument is a witness, that neither will I go over this hill to you, nor will you go to me over this hill and this monument, for evil;

Let the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor judge between us, the God of their father. Jacob swore by the fear of his father Isaac.

And Jacob slew the sacrifice on the mountain, and called his relatives to eat bread; and they ate bread and drank and slept on the mountain.

And Laban arose early in the morning, and kissed his grandsons and his daughters, and blessed them. And Laban went and returned to his place.
