5 And [Esau] looked, and saw the women and the children, and said, 'Who is this with you?' And Jacob said, The children whom God has given to thy servant.

6 And the maidservants and their children came near, and worshipped;

7 And Leah and her children came near, and worshipped; At last Joseph and Rachel came and bowed.

8 And Esau said, 'Why do you have this multitude which I have met?' And Jacob said, That [thy servant] may find favor in the sight of my master.

9 Esau said, 'I have much, my brother; let yours be yours.

10 And Jacob said, 'No, if I have found favor in thy sight, receive my gift from my hand, for I have seen thy face as one had seen the face of God, and thou hast been well pleased with me.

11 Accept my blessing which I have brought unto thee, for God hath given me, and I have all things. And he begged him, and he took

12 And he said, Let us arise and go; and I will go before you.

13 And Jacob said unto him, 'My lord knoweth that the children are tender, and that my flocks and herds are milking: if I drive him one day, all the cattle shall die;

14 Let my lord go before his servant, and I will go slowly, as the cattle that are before me go, and as the children go, and I will come to my lord in Seir.

15 And Esau said, 'I will leave with you some of the men who are with me.' And Jacob said, What is the use of this? if only I could gain favor in the sight of my master!

16 And Esau returned the same day by his way to Seir.

17 And Jacob went to Succoth, and built himself a house, and made booths for his cattle. From this he called the name of the place: Succoth.

18 And Jacob, having returned from Mesopotamia, came safely to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, and encamped himself before the city.
