Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken to him, Bethel.
E-16 And they departed from Bethel. [And he pitched his tent behind the tower of Gader.] And when there was still some distance of the earth from Ephrathah, Rachel gave birth, and her childbirth was difficult.
17 And while she was suffering in childbirth, the midwife said to her, 'Do not be afraid, for this also is your son.'
18 And when the soul went out of her, for she was dying, she called his name Benoni. But his father called him Benjamin.
19 And Rachel died, and was buried on the road to Ephrathah, that is, Bethlehem.
20 And Jacob erected a monument over her tomb. This is the funerary monument of Rachel to this day.
21 And Israel departed, and pitched his tent behind the tower of Gader.
22 And while Israel was in that country, Reuben went and slept with Bilhah, the concubine of his father [Jacob]. And Israel heard [and received it with grief]. And Jacob had twelve sons.
23 And the sons of Leah: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn, Simeon, Levi, Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.
24 The sons of Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.
25 The sons of Bilhah, Rachel's maidservant, were Dan and Naphtali.
26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah's maidservant, were Gad and Asher. These are the sons of Jacob, born to him in Mesopotamia.
27 And Jacob came to Isaac his father, in Mamre, in Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac were wandering.
28 And the days of Isaac were a hundred and eighty years.
29 And Isaac gave up his spirit, and died, and was gathered to his people, being old and full of life; and Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.
Chapter 36
1 This is the genealogy of Esau, who is also Edom.
2 Esau took wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah the daughter of Elon the Hittite, and Olivemah the daughter of Ana the son of Zibeon the Hivite,
3 And Bashematha the daughter of Ishmael, the sister of Nebaioth.
4 And Adah begat Esau Eliphaz, and Bashemath begat Raguel,
5 Olivemah begat Jehus, Jeglom, and Korah. These are the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
