Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

Hunger intensified on the land.

And when they had eaten the bread which they had brought from Egypt, then their father said to them, 'Go again, and buy us some food.'

And Judas said unto him, saying, That man hath made a resolute statement unto us, saying, Come not to me in thy face, unless thy brother be with thee.

If thou shalt send our brother with us, let us go and buy thee food,

but if you do not send, we will not go, for that man said to us, 'Do not appear to me in your face, unless your brother is with you.'

Israel said, "Why have you done me such evil, saying to that man that you have another brother?"

And they said, 'That man inquired about us and about our kinship, saying, 'Is your father still alive?' Do you have a brother? We told him about these questions. Could we have known that he would say, "Bring your brother?"

And Judah said unto Israel his father, Let the lad go with me, and we shall arise and go, and we shall live, and we, and thou, and our children, shall not die;

I answer for him, out of my hands thou shalt demand him; If I do not bring him to you and set him before you, I will remain guilty before you all the days of my life;

If we had not delayed, we would have gone down twice.

And Israel their father said unto them, 'If so, then this is what ye shall do: Take with you some of the fruit of this land, and bring to that man a gift of some balm, and some honey, and styrax, and frankincense, and pistachios, and almonds;

Take the other silver also in your hands; and return the silver that was put back into the hole of your bags with your hands: perhaps this is an oversight;

And take your brother, and get up, and go again to that man.

And may God Almighty grant you to find mercy in a man, that he may release to you also your other brother and Benjamin, and if I be childless, let me be childless.
