Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

For thou art the ornament of their power, and by thy good pleasure our horn is exalted.

From the Lord is our shield, and from the Holy One of Israel is our king.

Thou didst once speak in a vision to Thy holy one, and said, "I have helped the courageous, I have exalted the chosen one from among the people.

I have found David my servant, I have anointed him with my holy oil.

My hand shall be with him, and my arm shall strengthen him.

The enemy will not prevail against him, neither will the son of iniquity oppress him.

I will crush his enemies before him, and I will smite them that hate him.

And my truth and my mercy be with him, and in my name his horn shall be lifted up.

And I will put his hand upon the sea, and his right hand upon the rivers.

He shall call upon me, 'Thou art my father, my God, and the stronghold of my salvation.'

And I will make him the firstborn, above the kings of the earth,

I will keep my mercy for him for ever, and my covenant with him shall be faithful.

And I will continue his seed for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

And if his sons forsake my law, and walk not in my commandments;

If they break my statutes, and do not keep my commandments,

I will punish their iniquity with a rod, and their iniquity with blows.

But I will not take away my mercy from him, neither will I change my truth.

I will not break my covenant, neither will I change the things that have come out of my mouth.

Once I swore by my holiness, 'Will I lie to David?'

His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne shall be like the sun before me,

For ever he shall be as firm as the moon, and a faithful witness in heaven."
