Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

O God of vengeance, O Lord, God of vengeance, shew thyself!

Arise, O Judge of the earth, and give vengeance to the proud.

How long, O Lord, shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked rejoice?

They spew out insolent speeches; all those who do iniquity are magnified;

they trample down thy people, O Lord, they oppress thy inheritance;

The widow and the stranger are killed, and the fatherless are slain

And they say, "The Lord shall not see, neither shall the God of Jacob know."

Come to your senses, senseless people! When will you be wise, ignorant?

Shall he who planted an ear hear? and he who formed the eye will not see?

Will he who admonish the nations not rebuke, he who teaches man understanding?

The Lord knoweth the thoughts of men, that they are vain.

Blessed is the man whom thou, O Lord, admonisheth, and instructest by thy law,

To give him rest in the days of trouble, while a pit is dug for the wicked.

For the Lord will not reject his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.

For judgment will return to righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it.

Who will rise up for me against evildoers? Who will stand for me against those who do iniquity?

If the Lord had not been my helper, my soul would soon have dwelt in the land of silence.

When I said, 'My foot is shaking,' Your mercy, O Lord, sustained me.

As my afflictions abound in my heart, Thy consolations delight my soul.

Shall there be near thee the seat of the destroyers, who devise violence against the law?

In a crowd they rush upon the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
