5 A faithful witness does not lie, but a false witness will tell many lies.

6 A profligate man seeketh wisdom, and findeth not; but knowledge is easy for the prudent.

7 Depart from a foolish man, in whom thou hast not seen prudent lips.

8 The wisdom of the prudent is the knowledge of his way, but the foolishness of the foolish is error.

9 Fools laugh at sin, but in the midst of the righteous there is goodwill.

10 The heart knoweth the sorrow of its own soul, and a stranger shall not interfere with its joy.

11 The house of the wicked shall be destroyed, but the dwelling of the righteous shall flourish.

12 There are ways that seem straight to man; but their end is the way to death.

13 And when laughter sometimes the heart aches, and the end of joy is sorrow.

14 A man with a corrupt heart shall be satisfied with his ways, and a good man with his own.

15 A fool believes every word, but a prudent man is attentive to his ways.

16 A wise man fears and shuns evil, but a fool is irritable and presumptuous.

17 A hot-tempered person can do a foolish thing; But a person who deliberately does evil is hateful.

18 The ignorant shall have foolishness as their inheritance, but the prudent shall be crowned with knowledge.

19 The wicked shall bow down before the good, and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 A poor man is hated even by his own kinsmen, but a rich man hath many friends.

21 He who despises his neighbor sins; but he who is merciful to the poor is blessed.

22 Do not those who devise evil err? [those who do evil do not know mercy and faithfulness;] but mercy and faithfulness are with the well-meaning.

23 From all labor there is profit, but from idle talk only loss.

24 The crown of the wise is their riches, but the foolishness of the ignorant is foolishness.

25 A faithful witness saves souls, but a liar will tell many lies.
