Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

Everyone who is haughty in heart is an abomination to the Lord; We can be sure that he will not go unpunished. [The beginning of the good way is to do righteousness; this is more pleasing in the sight of God than to offer sacrifices. He who seeks the Lord will find knowledge with righteousness; those who truly seek him will find peace.]

By mercy and righteousness sin is cleansed, and the fear of the Lord turns away from evil.

When a man's ways are pleasing to the Lord, he reconcileth his enemies to him.

Better is a little with righteousness than a great deal of gain with unrighteousness.

A man's heart considers his way, but the Lord directs his way.

In the king's mouth is an inspired word; His lips must not sin in judgment.

Faithful scales and weighing bowls are from the Lord; And from Him all the weights are in the bag.

An abomination unto kings is a wicked thing, because by righteousness a throne is established.

Righteous lips are pleasing to the king, and he loveth him that speaketh the truth.

The king's wrath is the messenger of death; but a wise man will propitiate him.

In the king's bright gaze is life, and his favor is like a cloud with the latter rain.

The acquisition of wisdom is far better than gold, and the acquisition of understanding is preferable to choice silver.

The way of the righteous is to turn away from evil: he that keepeth his soul keepeth his way.

Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness goes before falling.

It is better to humble oneself in spirit with the meek than to share the spoils with the proud.

He that doeth wisely shall find good, and he that trusteth in the Lord is blessed.

He who is wise in heart will be called prudent, and sweet speech will add to learning.

Understanding is the fountain of life to those who have it, but the learning of fools is foolishness.

The heart of a wise man maketh his tongue wise, and multiplies knowledge in his mouth.

Pleasant speech is honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and healing to the bones.

There are ways that seem straight to man, but the end of them is the way to death.
