27 And they came to Elim; There were twelve springs of water and seventy date trees, and they camped there by the waters.

Chapter 16

1 And they departed from Elim, and all the congregation of the children of Israel came into the wilderness of Sin, which is between Elim and Sinai, on the fifteenth day of the second month after they came out of the land of Egypt.

2 And all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness,

3 And the children of Israel said unto them, Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, while we were sitting by the cauldrons of meat, while we were eating bread to our heart's content! for you have brought us out into this wilderness, to starve the whole congregation to death.

4 And the Lord said to Moses, 'Behold, I will rain bread for you from heaven, and let the people go out and gather daily as much as is necessary for the day, that I may try them, whether they will walk in my law or not;

5 And on the sixth day they shall prepare what they bring, and it shall be twice as much as they gather on the other days.

6 And Moses and Aaron said to all the children of Israel, 'In the evening you will know that the LORD has brought you up out of the land of Egypt,

7 And in the morning ye shall see the glory of the Lord, for he has heard your murmuring against the Lord: but what are we, that ye murmur against us?

8 And Moses said, "You will know when the Lord will give you meat to eat in the evening, and bread to your heart's content in the morning: for the LORD has heard your murmuring which you have raised up against him, 'But what about us? your murmuring is not against us, but against the Lord.

9 And Moses said to Aaron, "Say to all the congregation of the children of Israel, 'Stand yourselves before the Lord, for he has heard your murmuring.'

10 And as Aaron spoke to all the congregation of the children of Israel, they looked back toward the wilderness, and behold, the glory of the Lord appeared in a cloud.

11 And the Lord said to Moses, saying,

12 I heard the murmuring of the children of Israel; Say to them, In the evening you will eat meat, and in the morning you will be satisfied with bread, and you will know that I am the Lord your God.
