Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And in the third month after the exodus of the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on the very day of the new moon, they came into the wilderness of Sinai.

And they departed from Rephidim, and came into the wilderness of Sinai, and encamped there in the wilderness; and Israel encamped there against the mountain.

And Moses went up to God, and the Lord called unto him from the mountain, saying, Thus speak unto the house of Jacob, and speak unto the children of Israel,

and ye have seen what I have done to the Egyptians, and how I have borne you on the wings of an eagle, and brought you unto myself;

Therefore if you obey my voice, and keep my covenant, you will be my inheritance among all the nations, for all the earth is mine,

but ye shall be with me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation; these are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

And Moses came and called together the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which the Lord had commanded him.

And all the people answered with one accord, saying, 'All that the Lord has said, we will do [and be obedient.' And Moses brought the words of the people to the Lord.

And the Lord said to Moses, 'Behold, I will come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear how I speak to you, and believe you forever.' And Moses declared the words of the people to the Lord.

And the Lord said to Moses, 'Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow; let them wash their garments;

To be ready for the third day: for on the third day the Lord shall come down before the eyes of all the people on Mount Sinai;

And draw a line for the people on all sides, and say, 'Beware of going up into the mountain, and touching the foot thereof; whosoever toucheth the mountain shall be put to death;

Let no hand touch him, but let them stone him, or shoot him with an arrow. whether it be cattle or man, let him not live; and they may ascend the mountain during the sound of the trumpet.

And Moses came down down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people, and they washed their garments.
