Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And he said to the people, 'Be ready for the third day; Do not touch your wives.

And on the third day, when morning came, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud over Mount [Sinai], and the sound of the trumpet was very strong; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.

And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet God, and stood at the foot of the mountain.

And Mount Sinai was all smoking, because the Lord had come down upon it in fire; and smoke went up from it like smoke from a furnace, and the whole mountain shook violently;

And the sound of the trumpet became stronger and stronger. Moses spoke, and God answered him with a voice.

And the Lord came down on Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain, and the Lord called Moses on the top of the mountain, and Moses went up.

And the LORD said to Moses, "Go down and confirm to the people, that they may not rush to the LORD to see him, and that many of them may not fall;

But the priests who draw near to the Lord [God] must sanctify themselves, lest the Lord smite them.

And Moses said to the Lord, 'The people cannot go up to Mount Sinai, because you have warned us, saying, 'Draw a line around the mountain and sanctify it.'

And the Lord said to him, 'Go, come down, then you will come up, and Aaron with you; but let not the priests and the people rush to go up to the Lord, lest [the Lord] smite them.

And Moses went down to the people, and told them unto them.
