Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments
16 For by what shall I know that I and thy people have found favor in thy sight? Is it not because of when Thou wilt go with us? then will I and Thy people be more glorious than any nation on earth.
17 And the Lord said unto Moses, And that which thou hast spoken, I will do, because thou hast found favor in my sight, and I know thee by name.
18 [Moses] said, 'Show me your glory.'
19 And he said to Moses, "I will bring all my glory before you, and I will declare the name of Jehovah before you, and whom I will have mercy on, I will have mercy on, and whom I will have compassion on."
20 And then he said, 'You cannot see my face, because a man cannot see me and live.'
21 And the Lord said, 'This is my place, stand on this rock;
22 And when my glory is past, I will set thee in the cleft of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand, until I pass through.
23 and when I take away my hand, you will see me from behind, but my face will not be visible.
Chapter 34
1 And the Lord said unto Moses, Thou shalt heave thee two tablets of stone like the first, and I will write on these tablets the words which were on the former tablets which thou hast broken.
2 And be ready for the morning, and go up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and stand before me there on the top of the mountain.
3 But no man shall go up with thee, and no man shall show himself in all the mountain; Not even cattle, flocks or herds, shall graze near this mountain.
4 And Moses hewed out two tablets of stone like the former, and rising up early in the morning, he went up into Mount Sinai, as the Lord had commanded him; And he took his two tablets of stone in his hands.
5 And the Lord came down in a cloud, and stood there beside it, and proclaimed the name of Jehovah.
