Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And he made the breastplate a workmanship of workmanship, the same work as the ephod, of gold, and of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of fine woven linen;

it was quadrangular; they made a double breastplate a span long and a span wide, it was double;

And they set stones in it in four rows. Next to it: ruby, topaz, emerald – this is the first row;

in the second row: carbuncle, sapphire and diamond;

in the third row: yakhont, agate and amethyst;

in the fourth row: chrysolite, onyx and jasper; and they are set in golden sockets.

And there were stones according to the number of the names of the children of Israel: twelve of them, according to the number of their names, and on each of them was engraved, as on a seal, one name, for the twelve tribes.

For the breastplate they made thick chains of twisted work of pure gold;

And they made two sockets of gold, and two rings of gold, and fastened the two rings to the two ends of the breastplate;

And they put the two braided chains of gold into two rings at the ends of the breastplate,

And the two ends of the two chains they fastened to the two sockets, and they fastened them to the shoulders of the ephod on the front of it.

And they also made two rings of gold, and fastened them to the other two ends of the breastplate, on the side which is to the ephod inward.

And they also made two rings of gold, and fastened them to the two shoulders of the ephod from below, on the front side thereof, at the joint thereof above the girdle of the ephod.

And they fastened the breastplate with the rings thereof to the rings of the ephod by a cord of blue wool, that it might be over the girdle of the ephod, and that the breastplate should not stray from the ephod, as the Lord had commanded Moses.
