Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

17 Thus every good tree beareth good fruit, and a bad tree beareth also bad fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor a bad tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

20 Therefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

21 Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord! Lord!" will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.

22 Many will say to me in that day, 'Lord! God! Have we not prophesied in Thy name? and did they not cast out demons in Thy name? and did not many miracles work in Thy name?

23 And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of iniquity.

24 Whosoever therefore heareth these words of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, who built his house upon a rock;

25 And the rain fell, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and rushed against that house, and it did not fall, because it was founded on a rock.

26 But whosoever heareth these words of mine, and doeth not them, shall be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand;

27 And the rain fell, and the rivers overflowed, and the winds blew, and fell upon that house; and he fell, and his fall was great.

28 And when Jesus had finished these words, the people were amazed at his teaching,

29 for he taught them as one who had authority, and not as the scribes and Pharisees.

Chapter 8

1 And when he came down from the mountain, a great multitude followed him.

2 And behold, the leper came near, and bowed down unto him, saying, Lord! If you want, you can cleanse me.

3 And Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said, I will, be cleansed. And immediately he was cleansed of leprosy.

4 And Jesus said to him, 'See that you tell no man, but go and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift which Moses commanded for a witness to them.'

5 And when Jesus entered into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, and besought him,

6 Lord! My servant lies at home in paralysis, and suffers terribly.

7 Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."
