And he touched her hand, and the fever left her; And she arose and ministered to them.

And when the evening was come, they brought to him many possessed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all the sick,

That it may be fulfilled which was spoken through the prophet Isaiah, who says, He hath taken upon Himself our infirmities, and bore our sorrows.

And when Jesus saw a multitude of people around him, he commanded them to sail to the other side.

Then a certain scribe came and said to him, 'Teacher! I will follow You wherever You go.

And Jesus said to him, 'The foxes have holes, and the birds of the air have nests, but the Son of Man has not where to lay his head.'

And another of his disciples said to him, 'Lord! let me go first and bury my father.

But Jesus said to him, 'Follow me, and let the dead bury your dead.'

And when he entered into the boat, his disciples followed him.

And behold, there was a great tumult on the sea, so that the boat was covered with waves; but He was asleep.

Then his disciples came up to him, and awoke him, and said, 'Lord! Save us, we are perishing.

And he saith unto them, Why are ye so afraid, ye of little faith? Then, getting up, he rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great silence.

And the people were amazed, saying, 'Who is this, that both the winds and the sea obey him?'

And when he came to the other side of the country of Gergesenes, he was met by two demon-possessed men coming out of the tombs,40 very fierce, so that no one dared to pass that way.

And behold, they cried out, 'What have you to do with us, Jesus, the Son of God?' Thou hast come hither before the time to torment us.

And a great herd of pigs was grazing far from them.

And the demons asked him, 'If thou wilt cast us out, send us into a herd of swine.'

And he said to them, 'Go.' And they went out and went into the herd of swine. And so, the whole herd of pigs threw themselves down the steep slope into the sea and died in the water.

And the shepherds fled, and came into the city, and told of all things, and of what had happened to the possessed men.

And behold, all the city went out to meet Jesus; and when they saw him, they asked him to depart from their borders.
