And they that crucified him divided his garments, casting lots to see who should take what.

It was the third hour, and they crucified him.

And the inscription of his guilt was, King of the Jews.

Two thieves were crucified with him, one on his right hand and the other on his left.

And the word of the Scripture was fulfilled, and he was numbered with the transgressors.

Those who passed by cursed Him, nodding their heads, and saying, Ah! Who destroys the temple, and builds it in three days!

Save thyself and come down from the cross.

Likewise, the chief priests and the scribes mocked each other, saying to one another, 'He has saved others, but he cannot save himself.'

Let Christ, the King of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see, and believe. And those who were crucified with Him reproached Him.

And in the sixth hour darkness came over all the earth, and lasted until the ninth hour.

At the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "Eloi! Eloi! Lamma Savakhfani? – what does it mean: My God! My god! why hast thou forsaken me?

And some of those who stood there heard, saying, 'Behold, Elijah is calling.'

And one of them ran, and filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave him a drink, saying, 'Wait, let us see if Elijah comes to take him off.'

And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and gave up his spirit.

And the veil of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.

And the centurion who stood before him, when he saw that he had thus cried out, gave up his spirit, said, 'Truly this man was the Son of God.'

And there were also women who were looking on from afar, and Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the Less, and Josiah, and Salome,

And even while he was in Galilee they followed him and served him, and many others who came with him to Jerusalem.

And when the evening was already come, for it was Friday, that is, the day before the Sabbath,

Joseph came from Arimathea, a famous member of the council, who himself was waiting for the Kingdom of God, and dared to come to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.

Pilate was amazed that he was already dead, and he called the centurion and asked him how long he had died.
