16 And I will make thy seed as the sand of the earth; if any man can count the sand of the earth, thy descendants shall also be numbered;

17 Arise, and pass through this land in its longitude and breadth, for I will give it unto thee.

18 And Abram moved his tent, and went, and dwelt at the oak grove of Mamre, which is in Hebron; and there he built an altar to the Lord.

Chapter 14

1 And it came to pass in the days of Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Elassar, and Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Phidal king of Goim,

2 And they went to war against Berah king of Sodom, and against Birsha king of Gomorrah, and Shinab king of Admah, and Shemer king of Zeboim, and against Bela the king, which is Zoar.

3 All these were united in the valley of Siddim, where the Salt Sea is now.

4 Twelve years they were enslaved to Chedorlaomer, and in the thirteenth year they rebelled.

5 In the fourteenth year Chedorlaomer came, and the kings that were with him, and smote the Rephaimites in Ashteroth-Karnaim, and the Zuzimites in Gham, and the Emim in Shava-kiriathaim,

6 And the Horites in their mountain Seir, as far as El-Pharan in the wilderness.

7 And having returned from thence, they came to the fountain of Mishpat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amalekites, and also the Amorites who dwelt in Hazazon-Tamar.

8 And there went forth the king of Sodom, the king of Gomorrah, the king of Admah, the king of Zeboim, and the king of Bela, which is Zoar; And they fought with them in the valley of Siddim;

9 With Chedorlaomer king of Elam, and Phidal king of Goyim, and Amraphel king of Shinar, and Arioch king of Ellasar, four kings against five.

10 And in the valley of Siddim there were many pitch pits. And the kings of Sodom and Gomorrah took to flight, and fell into them, and the rest fled into the mountains.
