Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

I am the Lord your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt to give you the land of Canaan, to be your God.

And when thy brother shall become poor among thee, and be sold unto thee, thou shalt not impose upon him the labor of a slave.

He shall be with you as a hireling, as a sojourner; Until the jubilee year, let him work for you,

And then he shall depart from thee, and himself, and his children with him, and return to his family, and shall again enter into the possession of his fathers,

for they are my servants, whom I brought up out of the land of Egypt: they shall not be sold as slaves are sold;

thou shalt not rule over him with cruelty, but thou shalt fear thy God.

And that thy manservant and thy maidservant may be with thee, ye shall buy for yourselves a manservant and a maidservant of the nations that are round about you.

Also of the children of the settlers who dwell among you, you may buy, and of their descendants that are among you, which are born to them in your land, and they may be your property.

You may inherit them also to your sons as if they were your possessions. possess them forever as slaves. But over your brethren, the children of Israel, over one another, you shall not rule with cruelty.

And if a stranger or a sojourner of yours shall have wealth, and thy brother shall be poor before him, and shall be sold to a stranger that dwelleth with thee, or to any one of the stranger's tribe,

then after the sale you can buy it; and one of his brethren shall redeem him;

Either his uncle, or his uncle's son, shall redeem him, or any one of his kinsmen, of his family, shall redeem him. or if he has wealth, he will redeem himself.

And he shall settle accounts with him that bought it, from the year in which he sold himself to the year of jubilee, and the money for which he sold himself shall be given to him according to the number of years. as a temporary hireling, he must be with him;

And if there be many years left, as they may be, he shall redeem for himself the money with which he was bought.
