Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

24 Abraham was ninety-nine years old when his foreskin was circumcised.

25 And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old when his foreskin was circumcised.

26 On the same day Abraham and Ishmael his son were circumcised,

27 And with him was circumcised all the males of his house, which were born in the house, and were bought with money of the foreigners.

Chapter 18

1 And the Lord appeared to him by the oak grove of Mamre, as he sat at the entrance of his tent, in the heat of the day.

2 And he lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold, three men stood against him. And when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the entrance of his tent, and bowed down to the ground;

3 And he said, "Lord! if I have found favor in Thy sight, do not pass by Thy servant;

4 and they shall bring a little water, and wash your feet; and rest under this tree,

5 but I will bring bread, and you will strengthen your hearts; then go [on your way]; for ye pass by your servant. They said, "Do as you say."

6 And Abraham hastened to Sarah's tent, and said to her, 'Make haste three sats of the best flour, and make unleavened bread.'

7 And Abraham ran to the flock, and took a calf that was tender and good, and gave it to the lad, and he hastened to prepare it.

8 And he took the butter, and the milk, and the calf that was cooked, and set it before them, while he stood beside them under the tree. And they ate.

9 And they said unto him, Where is Sarah thy wife? He answered, "Here, in the tent."

10 And one of them said, 'I will be with you again at this time [next year,] and Sarah your wife will have a son.' And Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, behind it.

11 But Abraham and Sarah were old and old, and the usual things of women ceased with Sarah.

12 Sarah laughed inwardly, saying, "Shall I, when I am old, have this consolation?" and my lord is old.

13 And the Lord said to Abraham, 'Why did Sarah laugh [in herself], saying, 'Can I really give birth when I am old?'

14 Is there anything difficult for the Lord? At the appointed time I will be with you next year, and Sarah will have a son.

15 But Sarah did not confess, but said, "I did not laugh." For she was frightened. But He said to [her], "No, you laughed."

16 And the men arose, and departed from thence to Sodom; And Abraham went with them, to see them off.
