Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

But the Lord [God] took you, and brought you out of the furnace of iron out of Egypt, that you might be a people of his inheritance, as it is now seen.

And the Lord [God] was angry with me for your sake, and swore that I would not cross the Jordan, nor enter into that good land which the Lord your God gives you for an inheritance;

I will die in this land without going beyond the Jordan, but you will go over and possess that good land.

Take heed lest ye forget the covenant of the Lord your God, which he hath set with you, and that ye make unto yourselves idols, representing any thing, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee.

For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

But if sons are born to you, and sons to [your sons], and you live long on the earth, you become corrupt, and make an image of anything, and do this evil in the sight of the LORD your God, and provoke him to anger,

then I testify unto you this day by heaven and earth, that ye shall soon lose the land wherein ye are going beyond the Jordan to inherit; you will not remain much time in it, but you will perish;

And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall remain in a small number among the nations to which the LORD shall lead you.

And there you will serve gods, made by human hands of wood and stone, who do not see or hear, neither eat nor smell.

But when thou seekest the Lord thy God there, thou shalt find him, if thou seekest him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

And when thou shalt be in tribulation, and when all these things shall come upon thee in the end of time, thou shalt turn unto the Lord thy God, and shalt hearken unto his voice.

The LORD thy God is a God [good and] merciful; He will not forsake you, nor destroy you, nor forget the covenant with your fathers, which he sworn to them.

For ask of the former times that were before you, from the day that God created man on earth, and from one end of heaven to the other end of heaven, Has there ever been anything like this great work, or has it been heard?

Did [what] people heard the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, and lived, as thou hast heard?
