Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

41 Then Moses set apart the three cities on this side of the Jordan toward the east of the sun,

42 That a murderer should flee thither, who shall kill his neighbor without intention, not being his enemy yesterday or the third day, and that he should flee to one of these cities, and live;

43 Betzer in the wilderness, in the plain in the tribe of Reuben, and Ramoth in Gilead in the tribe of Gad, and Golan in Bashan in the tribe of Manasseh.

44 This is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel;

45 These are the commands, statutes, and statutes which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came out of Egypt,

46 beyond the Jordan, in the valley opposite Beth-peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the children of Israel, when they had gone out of Egypt.

47 And they took possession of his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, the two kings of the Amorites, which is beyond the Jordan to the east of the sun,

48 And from Aroer, which lies on the bank of the brook of the Arnon, to Mount Zion, which is also Hermon,

49 and all the plain this side of the Jordan to the east, to the very sea of the plain at the foot of Pisgah.

4 Face to face, the Lord spoke to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire;
