4 Pharaoh will not listen to you, and I will lay my hand on Egypt, and will bring up my army, my people, the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt with great judgments.

5 then shall the Egyptians know that I am the Lord, when I stretch out my hand against Egypt, and bring forth the children of Israel from among them.

6 And Moses and Aaron did as the Lord had commanded them, so they did.

7 Moses was eighty, and Aaron eighty-three years old, when they spoke to Pharaoh.

8 And the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

9 If Pharaoh says to you, 'Do a sign or wonder,' you shall say to Aaron, 'Take your rod and cast it before Pharaoh and his servants,' and he will become a serpent.

10 Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh and did as the Lord had commanded. And Aaron threw down his rod before Pharaoh and his servants, and he became a serpent.

11 And Pharaoh called the wise men and the sorcerers; and these wise men of Egypt did the same by their charms:

12 And every one of them threw down his rod, and they became serpents, but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods.

13 Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the Lord had said.

14 And the LORD said to Moses, 'Pharaoh's heart is stubborn: he will not let the people go.'

15 Go to Pharaoh tomorrow: behold, he will come out to the water, you shall stand in his way, by the bank of the river, and take the rod that was turned into a serpent, in your hand

16 And say to him, 'The Lord, the God of the Jews, has sent me to tell you, 'Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness.' but behold, thou hast not yet listened.

17 Thus saith the Lord, By this ye shall know that I am the Lord: with this rod which is in my hand I will strike the water that is in the river, and it shall be turned into blood,
