The Old Testament (Part 1)

22 Do not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God himself fights for you.

23 And I prayed to the Lord at that time, saying,

24 O Lord Lord, thou hast begun to shew thy servant thy majesty, and thy mighty hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth that can do such works as yours, and with power like yours?

25 let me go over and see that good land that is beyond the Jordan, and that beautiful mountain, and Lebanon.

26 But the Lord was angry with me for your sake, and did not listen to me, and the Lord said to me, It is enough for you, speak no more to me about these things;

27 Go up to the top of Pisgah, and look with your eyes to the sea, and to the north, and to the south, and to the east, and look with your eyes, for you will not pass over this Jordan.

28 And give instruction to Jesus, and strengthen him, and strengthen him; For he shall precede this people, and he shall divide to them into inheritances the land that thou lookest upon.

29 And we stopped in the valley opposite Beth-peor.

Chapter 4

1 Therefore, O Israel, listen to the statutes and laws which I teach you to do, that you may live, and go and inherit the land which the LORD God of your fathers is giving you [for an inheritance];

2 Do not add to what I command you, nor take away from it; keep the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you [today].

3 Your eyes have seen all that the LORD [our God] did to Baal-Peor: every man that followed Baal-Peor, the LORD your God has destroyed from among you;

4 but ye that have cleaved unto the Lord your God are alive all to this day.

5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and laws, as the Lord my God commanded me, that you should do these things in the land into which you are entering, that you might possess it.
