23 Only thou shalt not eat his blood: thou shalt pour it out on the ground as water.

Acts 15:1-31

1 And there were some who came down from Judea and taught the brethren, Except ye be circumcised according to the rite of Moses, ye cannot be saved.

2 And it came to pass, when there was a dissension, and a great contention between Paul and Barnabas, with them, that Paul and Barnabas, and certain others of them, should go to the apostles and elders at Jerusalem on this matter.

3 And so, having been escorted by the church, they passed through Phoenicia and Samaria, telling of the conversion of the Gentiles, and made great joy in all the brethren.

4 And when they came to Jerusalem, they were received by the church, and by the apostles, and by the elders, and declared all that God had done to them, and how he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.

5 Then certain of the heresy of the Pharisees arose, who believed, and said that the Gentiles should be circumcised, and commanded to keep the law of Moses.

6 The apostles and elders gathered together to consider this matter.

7 And after a long deliberation, Peter arose, and said unto them, Men, brethren! you know that God from the first days chose me from among us, that out of my mouth the Gentiles might hear the word of the Gospel and believe;

8 And God, the Knower of the Heart, gave them a testimony, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as unto us;

9 and made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith.

10 Why then do you now tempt God, desiring to put a yoke upon the necks of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we could bear?

E-11 But we believe that by the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they are.
