14 You are the light of the world. A city that stands on the top of a mountain cannot be hidden.  15 And having lit a candle, they do not put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it shines for all in the house.  16 So let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven. 

     17 Do not think that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets: I have not come to destroy, but to fulfill.  18 For verily I say unto you, Until heaven and earth pass away, not one jot or tittle shall pass away from the law, until all things are fulfilled.  19 Therefore, whoever breaks one of these least commandments, and teaches men so, the same shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. but whoever does and teaches will be called great in the Kingdom of Heaven.  20 For I say to you, unless your righteousness surpasses the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, you will not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 

     21 Ye have heard that it was said to them of old time, Thou shalt not kill, but whosoever killeth shall be liable to judgment.  22 But I say unto you, that whosoever is angry with his brother without cause shall be liable to judgment; Whoever says to his brother, 'Raka,' shall be liable to the Sanhedrin; but whoever says, 'fool,' is subject to hell fire.  23 Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there you remember that your brother has anything against you, 24 leave your gift there before the altar, and go first to be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.  25 Make peace with thy adversary quickly, while thou art still on the way with him, lest the adversary deliver thee up to the judge, and the judge deliver thee up to the servant, and they cast thee into prison.  26 Verily I say unto thee, thou shalt not come out of there, until thou hast given up to the last penny. 

     27 Ye have heard that it was said unto them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery.  28 But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.  29 But if thy right eye offends thee, pluck it out and cast it from thee: for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.  30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is better for thee that one of thy members should perish, than that thy whole body should be cast into hell. 

     31 And it is said, That if a man divorce his wife, let him give her a bill of divorce.  32 But I say unto you, Whosoever divorceth his wife, except for the guilt of adultery, gith her cause to commit adultery; and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. 

     33 And again ye have heard that it was said unto them of old time, Thou shalt not transgress thy oaths, but thou shalt keep thy oaths before the Lord.  34 But I say unto you, Swear not at all, neither by heaven, for it is the throne of God;  35 nor the earth, for it is his footstool; nor by Jerusalem, because it is the city of the great King;  36 Thou shalt not swear by thy head, for thou shalt not make one hair white or black.  37 But let your word be yes, yes, yes; no, no; and what is more than this is from the evil one.

     38 Ye have heard that it was said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.  39 But I say to you, Do not resist evil. But whosoever smites thee on thy right cheek, turn to him also the other; 40 And whosoever will sue thee, and take thy shirt, give him also thy outer garment;  41 And whosoever compels thee to go with him one mile, go with him two.  42 Give to him who asks you, and do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you. 

     43 Ye have heard that it was said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor and hate thy enemy.  44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them that despitefully use you and persecute you, 45 that ye may be sons of your Father which is in heaven, for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the just and the unjust.  46 For if you love those who love you, what reward will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same?  47 And if you greet only your brethren, what do you do in particular? Do not the pagans do the same? 

     48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

6 

     1 Смотрите, не творите милостыни вашей пред людьми с тем, чтобы они видели вас: иначе не будет вам награды от Отца вашего Небесного.  2 Итак, когда творишь милостыню, не труби перед собою, как делают лицемеры в синагогах и на улицах, чтобы прославляли их люди. Истинно говорю вам: они уже получают награду свою.  3 У тебя же, когда творишь милостыню, пусть левая рука твоя не знает, что делает правая,  4 чтобы милостыня твоя была втайне; и Отец твой, видящий тайное, воздаст тебе явно. 

     5 И, когда молишься, не будь, как лицемеры, которые любят в синагогах и на углах улиц, останавливаясь, молиться, чтобы показаться перед людьми. Истинно говорю вам, что они уже получают награду свою.  6 Ты же, когда молишься, войди в комнату твою и, затворив дверь твою, помолись Отцу твоему, Который втайне; и Отец твой, видящий тайное, воздаст тебе явно.  7 А молясь, не говорите лишнего, как язычники, ибо они думают, что в многословии своем будут услышаны;  8 не уподобляйтесь им, ибо знает Отец ваш, в чем вы имеете нужду, прежде вашего прошения у Него.  9 Молитесь же так: 

   Отче наш, сущий на небесах! да святится имя Твое;  10 да приидет Царствие Твое; да будет воля Твоя и на земле, как на небе;  11 хлеб наш насущный дай нам на сей день;  12 и прости нам долги наши, как и мы прощаем должникам нашим;  13 и не введи нас в искушение, но избавь нас от лукавого. Ибо Твое есть Царство и сила и слава во веки. Аминь. 

     14 Ибо если вы будете прощать людям согрешения их, то простит и вам Отец ваш Небесный,  15 а если не будете прощать людям согрешения их, то и Отец ваш не простит вам согрешений ваших.
