Lopukhin's explanatory Bible. OLD TESTAMENT.GENESIS

[239] And Moses stretched out his rod against the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land, which lasted all that day and all night. Morning came, and the east wind brought locusts... And the Lord raised up a very strong wind from the opposite side, and it carried the locusts and threw them into the Red Sea: there was not a single locust left in all the land of Egypt.

[240] And Moses stretched out his hand upon the sea, and the Lord drove the sea with a strong east wind all night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters parted.

[241] And God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth...

[242] And he called his name Noah, saying, "He will comfort us in our work, and in the labor of our hands in tilling the land, which the Lord [God] has cursed."

[243] I have received everything, and I am in abundance; I am pleased to have received from Epaphroditus, which you sent as fragrant incense, a pleasing sacrifice pleasing to God.

[244] And when he took the book, then the four beasts and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

[245] And another angel came, and stood before the altar, holding a golden censer; And a great quantity of incense was given to him, that with the prayers of all the saints he might lay it on the golden altar which is before the throne. And the smoke of incense ascended with the prayers of the saints from the hand of the angel before God.

[246] Let my prayer be as incense before Thy face, the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

[247] But the earth was corrupted before the face of God, and the earth was filled with wickedness.

[248] And I will continue his seed for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

[249] Thou hast established all the boundaries of the earth, Thou hast established summer and winter.

[250] thus saith the Lord: If ye can destroy my covenant concerning the day, and my covenant concerning the night, lest the day and the night come in their season...  Thus says the Lord: If I have not established My covenant concerning day and night, and the statutes of heaven and earth...

[251] And I will make a covenant of peace with them, and I will remove the fierce beasts from the earth, so that they may dwell safely in the steppe and sleep in the forests... And I will make a glorious planting among them, and they will no longer perish of hunger in the land, nor suffer shame from the nations.

[252] And I will make a covenant of peace with them, an everlasting covenant shall be with them. And I will build them, and multiply them, and set my sanctuary among them for ever.
