·  Recognize the Spirit of God (and the spirit of error) in this way: every spirit that confesses Jesus Christ come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God, but is the spirit of the Antichrist, of whom you have heard that he is coming, and is now in the world. (1 John 4:2,3)

·  But whoever enters into the perfect law, the law of freedom, and abides in it, being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the deed, will be blessed in his action. (James 1:25)

·  Everyone who abides in Him does not sin; every sinner has not seen Him and has not known Him. (1 John 3:6)

·  Whoever commits sin is of the devil, because the devil sinned first. It is for this reason that the Son of God appeared, in order to destroy the works of the devil. Everyone who is born of God does not sin, because His seed abides in him; and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. The children of God and the children of the devil are recognized in this way: everyone who does not do righteousness is not of God, nor is he who does not love his brother. (1 John 3:8-10)

·  Beloved! do not imitate evil, but good. He who does good is from God; but he who does evil has not seen God. (3 John 1:11)

· Jesus answered them, "Verily, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is a slave to sin." But the slave does not dwell in the house forever; The Son abides eternally. Therefore, if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:34-36)

·  and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And since I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. (Galatians 2:20)

·  all of you who were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Galatians 3:27)

·  Does sweet and bitter water flow from the same opening of the spring? (James 3:11)

·  you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (John 8:32)

·  We have died to sin: how can we live in it? … Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life. … In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore let not sin reign in your mortal body, that you should obey it in its lusts; … Sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under the law, but under grace.... Thanks be to God that you, having formerly been slaves to sin, have become obedient from the heart to the form of teaching to which you have given yourselves. And when you were freed from sin, you became slaves to righteousness. I speak according to human reasoning, for the sake of the weakness of your flesh. As you gave up your members to be slaves to uncleanness and iniquity to lawless works, so now present your members to be slaves of righteousness to holy works. But now, when you have been freed from sin and have become servants of God, your fruit is holiness, and the end is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:2,4,11,12,14,17-20,22,23)

· for the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death. … For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the spirit. The carnal mind is death, but the spiritual mind is life and peace, ... But you do not live according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit, if only the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. (Romans 8:2,5,6,9)
