A true Christian rests in the Lord, and the Lord rests in him; the Christian is clothed in Christ, and in the Christian Christ is (111:75).

The soul that abides in the service of God, learns in the Law of God day and night, unites into one spirit with the Lord, becomes akin to His holy Law... (108, 403).

Let us direct all our forces in time and in good time to our God, so that we may be assimilated to Him eternally, and in His assimilation we may find salvation in time and in eternity (111:133).

Assimilation to Christ becomes impossible not only when a person does not abandon sinfulness, it is also impossible when a person does not abandon his righteousness (111:181).

Preserving one's sinfulness, it is impossible to assimilate oneself to Christ. It is assimilated only by the pure, that is, by those who have become clean from the unclean through repentance (111, 181).

The fruit of God's blessing, given by the God-Man to mankind, was the reconciliation of people with God, the assimilation of the nature of God to human nature, after assimilation to the nature of God – the nature of man, the nature of the Creator – the nature of creation (111, 211).

I was assimilated to God by holy Baptism. The sacrament of Repentance is based on the sacrament of Baptism, and through Repentance the assimilation of God is restored... what is lost... life in the realm of the fallen nature (112:429).

You have been adopted by God through the sacrament of holy Baptism, you have entered into the closest unity with God through the sacrament of Holy Communion, support adoption, maintain unity. Bishop Ignatius (Brianchaninov) (108, 104).

LIKENESS TO GOD

"A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another" (John 13:34).

"We know love in this, that He laid down His life for us: and we must lay down our lives for our brethren" (1 John 3:16).

"Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" (Matt. 11:29).

"If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love, just as I also have kept the commandments of my Father, and abide in his love" (Jn 15:10).

"Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we might follow in his footsteps. He committed no sin, and there was no deceit in His mouth" (1 Pet. 2:21-22).
