And Pharaoh said to them, 'Let it be so, the Lord be with you!' I am ready to let you go: but why with children? You see, you have a bad intention!

No, go ye men alone, and serve the Lord, as ye have asked. And they drove them out from Pharaoh.

Then the Lord said to Moses, 'Stretch out your hand against the land of Egypt, and let the locusts come upon the land of Egypt, and eat up all the grass of the earth, all that is left of the hail.'

And Moses stretched out his rod against the land of Egypt, and the Lord brought an east wind upon the land, which continued all that day and all night. Morning came, and the east wind brought the locusts.

And the locusts fell upon all the land of Egypt, and lay down in all the land of Egypt in great multitudes: there was no locust like this before, neither shall there be such a locust after this;

And she covered the face of all the earth, so that the earth was not seen, and she ate up all the grass of the earth, and all the fruit of the trees that was left out of the hail, and there was no verdant left either on the trees or on the grass of the field in all the land of Egypt.

Pharaoh hastily called Moses and Aaron, and said, 'I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you;

Now forgive my sin once more, and pray to the Lord your God, that he may only turn away this death from me.

[Moses] left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord.

And the LORD raised up a very strong wind from the opposite side, and it carried the locusts and threw them into the Red Sea: there was not a single locust left in all the land of Egypt.

But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the children of Israel go.

And the Lord said to Moses, 'Stretch out your hand to heaven, and there will be darkness in the land of Egypt, tangible darkness.'

And Moses stretched out his hand to heaven, and there was thick darkness over all the land of Egypt three days;

And they saw no one another, and no one rose up from his seat three days; and all the children of Israel had light in their gates.
