And the LORD caused them to be troubled at the sight of Israel, and they smote them in Gibeon with a mighty defeat, and pursued them by the road to the high places of Bethoron, and smote them as far as Azekah and as far as Maked.
And it came to pass, as they fled from Israel by the slope of Mount Bethhoron, that the LORD threw upon them from heaven great stones [of the city] as far as Azekah, and they died; there were more of those who died by the stones of the hail than those who were slain by the children of Israel with the sword.
And Joshua cried unto the LORD in the day that the LORD delivered the Amorites into the hands of Israel, when he smote them at Gibeon, and they were slain before the children of Israel, and said before Israel, 'Stand still, O sun, over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Ajalon.'
And the sun stood still, and the moon stood, while the people took vengeance on their enemies. Is this not what is written in the Book of the Righteous: "The sun stood in the midst of heaven, and did not hurry to the west almost all day"?
And there was no day before or after that in which the Lord heard the voice of man. For the Lord fought for Israel.
Then Joshua and all Israel returned with him to the camp of Gilgal.
And those five kings fled and hid themselves in a cave in Mahide.
When it was reported to Jesus, saying, "Five kings have been found, and they are hiding in a cave in Highgate,"
Jesus said: "Roll large stones to the opening of the cave and set people by it to watch over them;
But do not stop [here], but pursue your enemies, and destroy the back of their army, and do not let them go into their cities, for the Lord your God has delivered them into your hands."
And after Joshua and the children of Israel had utterly struck them with a very great defeat, and the remnant of them had fled into the fortified cities,
And all the people returned to the camp of Joshua in Makkedah in peace, and no one stirred his tongue against the children of Israel.
Then Jesus said, 'Open the opening of the cave, and bring out to me out of the cave those five kings.'
And so they did: they brought out to him out of the cave five kings, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
