When it was reported to Jesus, saying, "Five kings have been found, and they are hiding in a cave in Highgate,"

Jesus said: "Roll large stones to the opening of the cave and set people by it to watch over them;

But do not stop [here], but pursue your enemies, and destroy the back of their army, and do not let them go into their cities, for the Lord your God has delivered them into your hands."

And after Joshua and the children of Israel had utterly struck them with a very great defeat, and the remnant of them had fled into the fortified cities,

And all the people returned to the camp of Joshua in Makkedah in peace, and no one stirred his tongue against the children of Israel.

Then Jesus said, 'Open the opening of the cave, and bring out to me out of the cave those five kings.'

And so they did: they brought out to him out of the cave five kings, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.

And when these kings were brought out to Jesus, Joshua called all Israel, and said to the captains of the soldiers who went with him, 'Come near, tread with your feet on the necks of these kings.' They came and stepped on their necks with their feet.

Jesus said to them, 'Do not be afraid, nor be terrified, but be strong and courageous; For thus will the Lord deal with all your enemies with whom you make war.

Then Jesus smote them, and slew them, and hanged them on five trees; and they hung on the trees until evening.

And when the sun went down, Jesus commanded, and they took them down from the trees, and threw them into the cave in which they were hiding, and rolled large stones to the mouth of the cave, which is there even to this day.

And on the same day Joshua took Makeda, and smote with the sword and his king, and conjured them and all that was breathing in it: he left no one to survive. and he did to the king of Macedonia as he did to the king of Jericho.

And Joshua and all Israel went with him from Makeda to Libna, and fought against Libnah;

And the LORD delivered her also into the hands of Israel, and took her and her king, and Joshua destroyed her with the sword, and all that was breathing in her: he left no one in her to survive, and he did to her king as he did to the king of Jericho.
