10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work, and the love which you have shown in his name, in ministering and ministering to the saints.

11 But we desire that each one of you will show the same zeal to the end to attain the fullness of hope,

12 that ye may not be slothful, but become imitators of those who by faith and patience inherit the promises.

13 For God, having made a promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no one else, swore by himself,

14 saying, 'Verily, in blessing, I will bless you, and in multiplying, I will multiply you.'

E-15 And so by patience Abraham made the promise.

16 For men swear by the greatest, and to every dispute they have an unbreakable oath.

17 Wherefore God, desiring to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the certainty of his will, made use of the oath,

18 that in two things which are certain, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have found refuge, and have laid hold of the hope that is set before us, may have great encouragement,

19 which is like an anchor to the soul, and sure and firm, and penetrating within beyond the veil,

20 whither Jesus entered for us as a forerunner, becoming High Priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.

Hebrews 7

1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, a priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham when he was returning from the defeat of the kings, and blessed him,

2 to whom Abraham set aside tithes from all things, he is, first, according to the meaning of his name, the king of righteousness, and then the king of Salem, which means the king of peace,

3 without a father, without a mother, without a genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but being likened to the Son of God, he remains a priest forever.

4 But see how great is he to whom Abraham the patriarch gave a tithe of his best booty.

5 And since those who receive the priesthood of the sons of Levi have a commandment to take tithes according to the law, from the people, that is, from their brethren, although they also are descended from the loins of Abraham,

6 And he that was not of their generation, took the tithe of Abraham, and blessed him that hath the promise.

7 And it is quite certain that the lesser is blessed by the greater.

8 And here mortal men tithe, and there He who bears witness of himself that he lives.

9 And it may be said that Levi, who collects tithes, gave tithes through Abraham:
