How to Read the Bible

35 Then they will say, "This desolate land has become like the garden of Eden; and these ruined and desolate and ruined cities are fortified and inhabited."

36 And the nations that remain around you will know that I, the Lord, am building up again what is destroyed, planting what is desolate. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I have done.

37 Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, in this also I will show my mercy to the house of Israel, I will multiply them as a flock.

38 As there are many sacrificial sheep in Jerusalem during her feasts, so will the desolate cities be full of people, and they will know that I am the Lord.

PSALM 50

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy, and according to the multitude of Thy mercies, blot out my iniquities.

4 Wash me many times from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin,

5 For I am conscious of my iniquities, and my sin is always before me.

6 Unto thee alone have I sinned, and have done evil in thy sight, so that thou art righteous in thy judgment, and pure in thy judgment.

7 Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and in sin my mother bore me.

8 Behold, thou hast loved the truth in thy heart, and hast shewed me wisdom within me.

9 Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

10 Let me hear joy and gladness, and the bones that Thou hast broken shall rejoice.

11 Turn away thy face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.

12 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.

13 Cast me not away from thy presence, neither take away thy Holy Spirit from me.

14 Restore to me the joy of thy salvation, and strengthen me by the Spirit of sovereignty.

15 I will teach the wicked thy ways, and the wicked shall turn unto thee.

16 Deliver me from blood, O God, the God of my salvation, and my tongue shall praise thy righteousness.

17 Lord! Open my mouth, and my mouth shall declare Thy praise.
