How to Read the Bible

43 And I have spoken unto you, but ye have not hearkened, and have resisted the command of the Lord, and have gone up into the mountain because of their obstinacy.

44 And the Amorites who dwelt in that mountain came up against you, and pursued you as bees do, and smote you in Seir as far as Hormah.

45 And ye returned, and wept before the Lord: but the LORD did not hear your cry, neither did he hearken unto you.

46 And ye tarried a long time in Kadesh, as long as ye were there.

1 And we turned, and went into the wilderness to the Red Sea, as the Lord had told me, and walked a long time round about Mount Seir.

2 And the Lord said to me, saying,

3 It is enough for you to walk around this mountain, turn to the north;

4 And thou shalt give a command unto the people, and say, Ye shall pass through the borders of your brethren, the sons of Esau, who dwell in Seir, and they shall fear you; But beware

5 To make war against them, for I will not give you their land, not one foot of their foot, because I have given Mount Seir to Esau as a possession.

6 You shall buy food from them with money, and you shall eat. and you shall buy water from them for money and drink;

7 For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the work of thy hands, hath protected thee in thy journey through this great wilderness; Behold, forty years the Lord thy God has been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing.

8 And we passed by our brethren, the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, by the way of the plain, from Elath and Ezion-geber, and turned, and went to the wilderness of Moab.

9 And the Lord said unto me, Thou shalt not enter into enmity with Moab, nor make war with them; for I will not give you anything of his land for a possession, because I have given Ar for a possession to the sons of Lot.
