Book of Hours (Russian translation)

And again the whole prayer: Lord and Master of my life: and one great bow.

If "Alleluia" is not sung, then the prayer of St. Ephraim with prostrations is left, and only the prayer "Lord God, Father Almighty" is read:

The Prayer of St. Mardarius

O Lord God, Father Almighty, Lord, Only-begotten Son Jesus Christ, and Holy Spirit! One Divinity, one Power, have mercy on me, a sinner, and save me, Thy unworthy servant, by ways known to Thee, for Thou art blessed unto the ages of ages. Amen.

The Prayer of St. Basil the Great3

O Lord Almighty, God of bodiless Powers and of all flesh, Who dwellest in the heights of heaven and beholds the earthly valleys, Who searches hearts, inner feelings, and the innermost things of men, Who knows clearly the beginningless and eternal Light, Who has no change or shadow of change! Thou Thyself, O immortal King, accept our supplications, which we, boldly trusting in the multitude of Thy mercies, offer to Thee at this time [nights] from filthy lips, and forgive us our trespasses, in deed, word, and thought, which we have committed knowingly and through ignorance, and cleanse us from all defilement of flesh and spirit, [making us temples of Thy Holy Spirit]. And grant us with a watchful heart and a sober mind to pass through the whole night of our present life, awaiting the coming of the bright day of the appearance of Thy Only-begotten Son, our Lord and God and Saviour Jesus Christ, when He, the Judge of all, will come to earth with glory to render to each one according to his works; may He find us not fallen and slothful, but watchful and rising, in the fulfillment of His commandments, and ready to enter with Him into the joy and divine palace of His glory, where the voice of those who celebrate unceasingly and the inexpressible delight of those who behold the ineffable beauty of Thy countenance. For Thou art the true Light, Who enlightens and sanctifies all things, and all creation praises Thee forever and ever. Amen.

Also, the priest, raising his hands, pronounces the prayer of the same saint:

We bless Thee, O Most High God and Lord of mercy, Who always does great and incomprehensible works with us, glorious and terrible, for which there is no number, Who has given us sleep for the repose of our infirmity and for rest from the labors of the laborious flesh. We thank Thee, for Thou hast not destroyed us with our iniquities, but hast manifested Thy love for mankind, as usual, and hast raised us, lying in senseless sleep, to glorify Thy might. Therefore we beseech Thy immeasurable goodness: enlighten our mental eyes and raise our minds from the heavy sleep of carelessness. Open our mouths and fill them with Thy praise, that we may be able to sing unshakenly, [praise] and glorify Thee, in all and from all glorified God, the Father without beginning, with Thy only-begotten Son, and Thy all-holy, good, and life-giving Spirit, now and always, and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
