The cross today is being erected / and the world is sanctified; / For thou, O Christ, who sit with the Father and the Holy Spirit, / hast stretched out thy hands upon him, / hast drawn the whole world to the knowledge of thee. / Grant those who trust in Thee / divine glory.

O wondrous miracle! / The life-giving plantation, the All-Holy Cross, / is on this day raised in height. / All the ends of the earth glorify, / all demons are afraid. / Oh, what a gift has been given to mortals! / Save our souls, O Christ, for them, / as the only merciful one! (2)

O wondrous miracle! / Like a bunch of grapes full of life / Who lifted the Most High on himself, / on this day we see the Cross raised from the earth, / by which we are all drawn to God / and death is swallowed up to the end. / O Immaculate Tree, / by which we enjoy / the food of immortality that is in Eden, / glorifying Christ!

O wondrous miracle! / The breadth and length of the Cross are equal to the heavens, / for by Divine grace it sanctifies everything. / By him barbarian nations are defeated, / by him the scepters of kings are strengthened. / O divine ladder, / by which we ascend to heaven, / exalting Christ the Lord in song!

Glory, and now, tone 6: On this day the Cross of the Lord makes its procession, / and the faithful receive it with love, / and receive healing / of soul, and body, and every infirmity. / Let us greet Him with joy and fear: / with fear – because of sin, as unworthy; / with joy – for the sake of salvation, which is given to the world / by Christ the Lord, nailed to him, / who has great mercy.

И тихо и согласно поют великое славословие. В это время совершается каждение св. Престола, на котором возложен св. Крест. В конце славословия настоятель, сделав перед престолом три земных поклона, совершает вынос св. Креста северными вратами. Дойдя же до Царских врат, по окончании славословия он возглашает: Премудрость! Станем благоговейно!. И идет в центр храма к приготовленному столу, на который возлагается блюдо со св. Крестом, после чего совершается его троекратное каждение. Хор в это время поет тропарь Спаси, Господи, людей Твоих: трижды.

[Далее, если совершается чин Воздвижения Креста, настоятель берет св. Крест с благовонными васильками (веточками базилика), и становится, обратившись лицом к востоку, диакон же возглашает:

Помилуй нас, Боже, по великой милости Твоей, молимся Тебе, услышь нас, Господи, и помилуй; возгласим все:

Хор начинает петь первую сотню Господи, помилуй. Настоятель же в начале осеняет Крестом трижды, и затем, во время пения первой половины сотни склоняется с Крестом к земле, не достигая до нее только пяди, а во время второй половины сотни поднимается, воздвигая св. Крест, в конце же пения также осеняет Крестом трижды.

Таким же порядком совершается воздвижение еще четырежды, на четыре стороны света.
