A COLLECTION OF EPISTLES

12 And when I send to thee Artemas or Tychicus, hasten to come to me at Nicopolis, for I have determined to spend the winter there.

13 And thou shalt take care to send Zehna the lawyer and Apollos, that they may lack nothing.

14 Let us also learn to exercise ourselves in good works, in the satisfaction of necessary needs, that they may not be fruitless.

15 All who are with me salute thee. Greet those who love us in faith. Grace be with you all. Amen.

THE EPISTLE TO PHILEMON

1 Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy the brother, to Philemon our beloved and fellow-worker,

2 And to Apphia, our beloved, and to Archippus, our companion, and to thy house church:

3 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

4 I thank my God, always remembering thee in my prayers,

5 hearing of thy love and faith which thou hast for the Lord Jesus and for all the saints,

6 that the fellowship of thy faith may be efficacious in the knowledge of all good things among you which are in Christ Jesus.

7 For we have great joy and comfort in thy love, because by thee, brother, the hearts of the saints are at rest.

8 Wherefore, having great boldness in Christ to command thee that which is due,

9 Rather, out of love, I beseech none other than I, Paul, an old man, and now also a prisoner of Jesus Christ;

10 I beseech thee concerning my son Onesimus, whom I have begotten in my bonds;

11 He was once unfit for thee, but now he is fit for thee and me; I return it;

12 And thou shalt receive him as my heart.

13 I wanted to keep him with me, that he might serve me in chains in your stead for the gospel;

14 but without thy consent I would do nothing, that thy good work should not be compulsory, but voluntary.

15 For perhaps he went away for a time, that thou mayest receive him for ever,

16 Not as a servant, but above a servant, a beloved brother, especially to me, and how much more to thee, both according to the flesh and in the Lord.

17 Therefore if thou hast fellowship with me, receive it as me.

18 But if he has wronged thee in any way, or ought to, count it on me.

19 I, Paul, have written with my hand, I will weep; I do not tell you that you owe me yourself.
