Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And the Lord God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?

And he said, 'I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I am naked, and hid myself.'

And [God] said, 'Who told you that you were naked?' did you not eat of the tree from which I forbade you to eat?

And Adam said, 'The woman whom thou hast given me, she gave me of the tree, and I have eaten.'

And the Lord God said to the woman, 'Why hast thou done this?' The woman said, The serpent deceived me, and I ate.

And the Lord God said unto the serpent, 'Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed before all cattle, and before all the beasts of the field; Thou shalt walk on thy belly, and shalt eat dust all the days of thy life;

And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed. it will bruise your head, and you will bruise your heel.

And he said unto the woman, I will multiply thy affliction in thy pregnancy; in sickness you will bear children; and thy desire is for thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

And he said to Adam, 'Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree of which I commanded you, saying, 'Do not eat of it, cursed is the ground for your sake.' with sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Thorns and thistles she will bring forth for you; and thou shalt eat the grass of the field;

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, until thou returnest to the ground whence thou wast taken, for dust thou art and to dust shalt thou return.

And Adam called his wife's name Eve, for she became the mother of all the living.

And the Lord God made for Adam and his wife garments of skins, and clothed them.

And the Lord God said, Behold, Adam became as one of us, knowing good and evil; and now lest he stretch out his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live forever.
