Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

16 Guard the things which your right hand has planted, and the branches which you have strengthened for yourself.

17 He was burned with fire, circumcised; from the rebuke of Thy face they shall perish.

18 Thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, over the son of man, whom thou hast strengthened unto thyself,

19 and we will not depart from thee; revive us, and we will call upon Thy name.

20 O Lord God Almighty! restore us; let Thy face shine, and we shall be saved!

Psalm 80

1 To the head of the choir. On the gun of Gath. Psalm of Asaph.

2 Sing joyfully to God, our stronghold; cry out to the God of Jacob;

3 Take a psalm, give a tympanum, a sweet-sounding harp with a psalter;

4 Blow the trumpet on the new moon, at a certain time, on the day of our feast;

5 for this is the law for Israel, the statute of the God of Jacob.

6 He instituted this as a testimony to Joseph when he came out of the land of Egypt, where he heard the sound of a tongue which he did not know:

7 "I took the weights from his shoulders, and his hands were freed from the baskets.

8 In distress thou hast called me, and I have delivered thee; out of the midst of the thunder I have heard thee, I have tried thee by the waters of the Meribah.

9 Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee, O Israel! Oh, if only you would listen to Me!

10 Thou shalt have no other god, neither shall thou worship a foreign god.

11 I am the LORD thy God, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth, and I will fill it."

12 But my people have not listened to my voice, and Israel has not submitted to me;

13 therefore I have left them to the stubbornness of their hearts, let them walk in their own thoughts.

14 Oh, that my people would listen to me, and that Israel would walk in my ways!

15 I would soon humble their enemies, and set my hand against their oppressors.
