Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

35 for whoever has found me has found life, and will receive grace from the Lord;

36 But he who sins against me injures his own soul: all those who hate me love death."

Chapter 9

1 Wisdom built herself a house, hewn out its seven pillars,

2 And she slaughtered the sacrifice, and dissolved her wine, and prepared a table for herself;

3 And she sent her servants to proclaim from the high places of the city, saying,

4 "Whosoever is foolish, turn hither!"

5 "Go, eat my bread, and drink the wine which I have mixed;

6 Leave foolishness, and live, and walk in the way of understanding."

7 He who teaches the blasphemer will bring disgrace to himself, and he who rebukes the wicked will be a stain to himself.

8 Do not rebuke the blasphemer, lest he hate you; rebuke the wise, and he will love you;

9 Give instruction to the wise, and he shall be wiser; teach the truthful, and he will increase knowledge.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding;

11 For through me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be added.

12 If thou art wise, thou art wise unto thyself; and if you are violent, then you will be patient alone. [He who is established in falsehood feeds the winds, chases the birds that fly: for he has left the paths of his vineyard and wanders in the paths of his field; he passes through a dry desert and a land doomed to thirst; he gathers barrenness with his hands.]

13 A woman who is reckless, noisy, foolish, and ignorant of nothing

14 He sits down at the door of his house on a chair, in the high places of the city,

15 To call them that pass by the way, that go straight in their own ways:

16 "Whosoever is a fool, turn hither!" and she said to the foolish:

17 "Stolen waters are sweet, and hidden bread is pleasant."

18 And he does not know that the dead are there, and that in the depths of hell they are called by her. [But you jump away, do not linger in the place, do not fix your gaze on it; for in this way you will pass through foreign waters.
