Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

19 And Moses took Joseph's bones with him, for he had sworn an oath to the children of Israel, saying, 'God will visit you, and you shall bring my bones out of here with you.'

20 And they went out of Succoth, and encamped at Etham, at the end of the wilderness.

21 And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, showing them the way, and by night in a pillar of fire, giving light to them, that they might go day and night.

22 The pillar of cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night did not depart from the presence of the people.

Chapter 14

1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2 And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, that they turn and encamp before Pi-hahiroth, and between Migdol, and between the sea, before Baal-zephon; Set up a camp by the sea opposite it.

3 And Pharaoh shall say concerning the children of Israel, 'They are lost in this land, the wilderness has shut them up.'

4 But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and he will pursue them, and I will show My glory on Pharaoh and on all his army. and the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord. And they did so.

5 And it was announced to the king of Egypt that the people had fled; And the heart of Pharaoh and his servants turned against this people, and they said, What have we done? why did they let Israel go so that they would not work for us?

6 [Pharaoh] harnessed his chariot, and took his people with him;

7 And he took six hundred chariots of choice, and all the chariots of Egypt, and the captains of them all.

8 And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Israel; and the children of Israel walked under a high hand.

9 And the Egyptians pursued them, and all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and the horsemen, and all his army, and overtook them that were encamped by the sea, at Pi-hahiroth before Baal-zephon.
