Bible. Books of the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments

And one of them said, 'I will be with you again at this time [next year,] and Sarah your wife will have a son.' And Sarah was listening at the entrance to the tent, behind it.

But Abraham and Sarah were old and old, and the usual things of women ceased with Sarah.

Sarah laughed inwardly, saying, "Shall I, when I am old, have this consolation?" and my lord is old.

And the Lord said to Abraham, 'Why did Sarah laugh [in herself], saying, 'Can I really give birth when I am old?'

Is there anything difficult for the Lord? At the appointed time I will be with you next year, and Sarah will have a son.

But Sarah did not confess, but said, "I did not laugh." For she was frightened. But He said to [her], "No, you laughed."

And the men arose, and departed from thence to Sodom; And Abraham went with them, to see them off.

And the Lord said, 'Shall I hide from Abraham what I will do?'

Surely from Abraham shall come forth a great and mighty nation, and in him shall all the nations of the earth be blessed,

For I have chosen him to command his sons, and his household after him, to walk in the way of the Lord, doing righteousness and justice; and the LORD will do to Abraham all that he said concerning him.

And the Lord said, 'The cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and their sin is very heavy;

I will go down and see if they do exactly as the cry that goes up to me is against them, or not. Know.

And the men turned from thence and went to Sodom; Abraham was still standing before the Lord.

And Abraham came and said, 'Wilt thou destroy the righteous with the wicked?'
